CLARA B.S. KIM
On July 7, 1926, in Kahului on the island of Maui, Clara B.S. Kim was born, the 8th of 10 children, last of 4 girls, and, possibly, the most adventurous of a most adventurous family. Having left McKinley High School at 17 years, she worked for the Army in Korea, Okinawa, and Japan fueling a passion for travel, enterprise, and discovery. Her love for roaming the world was only surpassed by her love for her family and friends. With a giving nature, she helped to educate, entertain, and rescue more than a few and with a fondness for an evening cocktail, good company, and with a generous heart, she lived a full but modest life. She summarized herself every time she signed her name, reciting, "Clara B.S. Kim…Be Sweet, Brown Sugar, I like Beef Stew". Predeceased by husband Wallace, stepchildren Wallis, Alvin, and Mililani, brothers Herbert, Joseph, John (Honey), Daniel (Chummie), and Matthew, sisters Ida, Ruth, and Soonie. Survived by brother Moses, stepdaughter Carrie, and a host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and many loving and loved friends.
She will be remembered and missed. Private services to be held.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
