FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

IRENE M. CORDEIRO-VIERRA
IRENE M. CORDEIRO-VIERRA95, passed away in Honolulu on January 20, 2023. She was born the first of six children to William George Claus Wedemeyer and Rebecca Kaono in Kalihi on June 6, 1927, and attended Puuhale Elementary School and Farrington High School, class of 1944. She was a May Day Queen in high school and had a small part in the 1950 movie "Pagan Love Song" starring Esther Williams, Howard Keel and Rita Moreno. For almost 60 years, she worked as a waitress at the Mayfair and Evergreen restaurants in downtown Honolulu, Coco's restaurant in Waikiki from the day it opened until the day it closed, the old Kelly's restaurant on Nimitz Highway, the Bay Terrace restaurant at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel on the Kohala Coast, and the old Cattleman's Steakhouse in Waimea. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and in her lifetime belonged to the Kalihi, Anuenue, Kaimuki, Waikiki, Waimea, Manoa, Laie 3rd and Hauula 3rd wards.

She is survived by her sister, Penny of Pearl City; son, Richard of Laie; daughter, Betty of Kentucky; sons-in-law, Rudy of Kailua and Charlie of California; granddaughter, Erynn of Washington state; grandchildren, Keone, Michelle and Lynn of Kailua, Charmaine, Charlie, Casey, and Brandon of California, Brittany of Oregon, Ashleigh of Kahaluu, Braden of Utah, Heidi and Alli of Virginia, and Rachel of Kailua; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Reagan; numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews in Hawaii, California and other states; and numerous great-grandchildren in Hawaii, California, Utah and Virginia.

She is pre-deceased by husbands, Richard J. Vierra and Albert E. Cordeiro; daughters, Bobbie, Colleen and Bobbi; brothers, Mike, Jesse and Hans; sister, Ramona, and her older brothers and sisters.

Viewing will be private. Visitation will be at Hawaiian Memorial Park on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 9:00am – 10:30am,
Services will be from 10:30am – 11:30am, Lunch will follow
from 11:30am – 12:30pm, followed by a private burial.

In lieu of gifts or flowers, we would want everyone to take their family out to eat and enjoy each other's company.
Life is short, so please love one another and express it
with each other now.
