Rose Toshiko Shigemura (January 12, 1926 - December 12, 2022) was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. She grew up in Kaimuki, attended Roosevelt High School and the University of Hawaii where she was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa award for her academic achievement and was an excellent tennis player. She married Tom Shigemura and was the president of Ritz Department Stores for over 40 years. Thomas Seiji Shigemura (May 29, 1925 - June 19, 2020) was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. He grew up in Manoa, attended St. Louis High School, University of Hawaii, and New York University. He was married to Rose Kamuri and was executive Vice President at Ritz Department Stores for many years.
Rose and Thomas are survived by their son John Kamuri Shigemura. Their services will be held at 3:00 p.m.
Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Central Union Church, Honolulu.
