89, of Honolulu, Hawaii, left this world peacefully on November 22, 2022. Born March 13, 1933 to George and Martha Porter, Betsy grew up in Kaimuki with her parents and older sister, Maxine. She graduated a proud Kamehameha Warrior in 1951 and earned a degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Management in San Francisco. Betsy and her husband Reginald married in 1954 and were blessed with four children. An original member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church, she served as Cafeteria Manager for many years and was named Island Treasure for her service to Star of the Sea. Betsy's legacy of love and aloha will live on through her husband of 68 years, Reginald, children Debbie (Mike), Darryl, Alan (Melanie), Leland (Rena), six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, relatives, friends and all those whose lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held March 11, 2023, at Star of the Sea Church. Services begin with a Rosary at 9:30, Viewing at 10:00 and Mass at 11:00.
