DOOLING, KATHARINEKatharine Rogers Dooling died peacefully on February 9, 2023, in hospice care in Kaneohe, HI. She was born in Boston to Pauline (Rogers) and James F. Dooling, lived in Hawaii for more than 35 years, and is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth C. Dooling, MD, and Margot D. Houghton. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul R. Dooling, and sister, Anne Dooling Clarke. A graduate of the Academy of Mount Saint Ursula (NY) and Fordham University, she received a MS in Teaching/Curriculum from Fordham and a Diploma in Psychology and Comparative Education from the University of London. Kathy was a beloved, committed and inspiring teacher in East Harlem, mid-Manhattan, at the Bronx Community College, in São Paulo. An avid traveler who visited all seven continents on business and vacation, Kathy was working as an educational consultant and textbook marketer for Ginn and Company in Hawaii when she decided to relocate from the mainland in the 1990s and become a permanent resident. A caring daughter, sister and aunt, she is survived also by eight nephews, including her godsons Francis J. (Chip) Houghton and David R. Clarke, two nieces, 27 grandnieces and nephews, two great grandnephews, and many cousins. A memorial service will be held at a later time. Her family is very grateful to all the staff at Pohai Nani and the Weinberg Care Center In Kaneohe with special thanks to Jodi Ige, Leona Hirahara, Laurine Pagaduan, Patricia Camero, Madelyn Iha, Dale Bannister, Judith Matthews, Leslie Pham, and to all the staff of the St. Francis Hospice.
