Lori Keiko Nogami-Young
Lori Keiko Nogami-YoungBorn on January 27, 1955, in Honolulu to Ann Masae and Richard Nogami. She graduated from Kaimuki High School and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Design from the University of Hawaii.

Lori was a talented artist and successful entrepreneur whose interests spanned a wide range of areas. As an artist, her drawings were accepted into collections at the State Foundation of Arts and the Honolulu Museum of Art (HoMA). As an entrepreneur, her first business venture was the Moon Fortune Cookie Corporation. While in her twenties, Lori lived for a while in New York City, where she worked as an actress and model. She acted in several off-Broadway plays, including Shogun MacBeth; a film of the play is in the Lincoln Center Library. As a model, her credits include a Francesco Rinaldi commercial and the teaching textbook East Meets West. She also created logos for Manhattan's Pan Asian Repertory Theatre and the Theater of the Open Eye, owned by Jean Erdman.

Upon returning to Hawaii from New York, Lori worked as a photo resource specialist and copy writer for the Maritime Museum. She designed the logo for Ko Olina Golf Course. Lori also attended massage school to learn massage and physical therapy techniques. Using these new skills, she opened two new businesses: Healing Arts and Ke Ola Pono Body Works. Lori also founded Jyoti Press and published a book: 21 Tales of Ho'oponopono. She owned and was the product designer for Ananda Bead Company and was the founder of Luckie Frog Happy Readings.

Lori's hobbies included hula, belly dancing, and Japanese flower arranging (ikebana). She attained the level of Sogetsu Ikebana sensei, with flower name "Ren Ka." Lori was also a yoga instructor.

Preceded in death by her father, hanai parents Betty and Harold Silva, and hanai brother Hal, Lori is survived by her mother, beloved husband Aaron, and their four "babies."

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Diamond Head Mortuary. Visitation at 9:00am Service at 10:00am.
