81, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2023, with her daughter by her side. Merle was a clothing buyer at Ethel's Dress Shoppe & retired as a preschool teacher at Central Union Preschool. Anyone who was blessed to know Merle would describe her as warm-hearted, honest & caring.Merle is survived by her husband, Lowell Wong; daughter Tricia (Chris) Ruiz; Furbaby Peanut; Brothers: Edgar (Shirley) Kawashima, Todd Kawashima; Sisters: Sharon (Ray) Michimoto, Lorna (Phil) Wood, Kathy Hood & predeceased by Joan (Robert) Dods.
A celebration of Merle's life will be held on March 12th at Mililani Memorial Park (Mauka Chapel). Visitation 10:00am. Service 11:00am. Aloha attire. The family requests face masks be worn. Lei only.
