Thelma H.T.L. Chun passed away at her home in Lihue, Kauai, at the age of 97 surrounded by her family. A retired Wilcox Elementary School teacher and an organist for Lihue Christian Church and Kapa'a First Hawaiian Church. Thelma was a lover of music and spent her time as a volunteer teacher at various places around the world. Thelma is survived by her husband of 72 years, Reverend Richard Chun; children: Dennis (Kyoko) Chun, Malcolm (Carrie) Chun, Jonathan (Sandy) Chun, & Debbie (Tiffany) Chun; grandchildren: Keao, Noa, Kamaka & Makana Chun, Lauren, Jason, & Kristin Chun, Kelcie & Dayna Ragasa; great grandchildren: Na'ale & Lei Chun, Cami & Mikey Ambrose, and Romi Kummerow, as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at
Lihue Christian Church on Saturday March 25, 2023.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m.; Service: 11:00 a.m.; Pa'ina to follow.
The family was assisted by Kauai Hospice & Garden Island Mortuary.
