Lynn Frances Kawahara passed away peacefully while visiting Osaka, Japan. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Lynn was born in Milwaukie, Wisconsin to Kenneth and Frances Brummer. She was the eldest of 5 children. She was raised in Portland, Oregon, and moved to Hawaii after graduating from college to begin a new chapter in her life. Lynn graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Education. After graduation, she began her teaching career which encompassed 30 years at Pearl Harbor Elementary School. Upon her retirement, she spent her time quilting, baking, traveling to Europe and Asia, going on ocean and river cruises with friends, and visiting her family in Portland.
Lynn was the loving wife for over 53 years to Bert. She was a wonderful mother and proud of her children, Kevin (Jodi), Craig, and Cara (Angus). A loving grand- mother to Payton, Nolan, Maia, Lily, and Eddie.
She was a caring sister to her siblings, Deborah (Chuck), George (Pam), Laura (Frank), and Kenneth.
She will remain forever in our hearts.
Private services were held at Mililani Memorial Park.
