Frank Ka`ahanui Velligas
Frank Ka`ahanui Velligas Frank Ka'ahanui Velligas left us peacefully to join his wife, Yasuko Matsudo, for eternity, on January 13, 2023. Born in Haiku, Maui, August 5, 1925, to Dalmacio Villegas and Elisapeka Palakiko. Frank was a loving, generous father and is survived by children: Dalton (Nona), Pauline (Gary) Sawai, Robert, Frank (Jeannie) and John (Ronalyn); 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers: John, Abraham, Daniel & Alfred; and sisters: Alice Eslit, Helen Dapitan, Maryann Gazmen, Matilda Naho`oikaika, Anna Dizon and Primrose Keahi.
"Sonny" retired from the US Army after 3 tours of Korea, and 1 in Vietnam. Among his various ribbon awards were the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart medals. After working another 20 years for the US Postal Service, Sonny enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Maui with Mom and watching football. He was an avid fisherman as well as a talented musician for family gatherings.

Visitation: 10:00 a.m.; Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Thursday,
March 23, 2023, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Wahiawa.
Burial at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl.
Aloha attire, no flowers please.
