Ethel Taeko OtaguroEthel Taeko Otaguro passed away at home surrounded by her family on January 15, 2023 at the age of 90. She was born on March 9, 1932 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She graduated from Farrington High School in 1950. She enjoyed a successful career beginning at the State of Hawaii before joining the federal government at Lualualei and Pearl Harbor. She retired as an Administrative Officer for the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Mom had a generous heart and loved her family. She and dad traveled with the Hawaii AJA Japan Tours Group, touring many cities and villages throughout Asia. She cherished travelling with her Mid-Town Fellowship Club and special friends in Japan. She welcomed everyone to her home and prepared delicious dishes and treats. She enjoyed yoga, aerobics, and Tai Chi. Despite her busy schedule, mom always found time to babysit her grandchildren. She was an avid Korean Drama enthusiast.

She is survived by husband, Herbert; daughter Cheryl (Stephen) Yamane, son, Curt (Mi Sun); grandchildren Chad Hiu (Perm), Devan and Aden Otaguro, step- grandchildren Jennifer Gerrald, Jacob Lawson; and two step- great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers Stanley (Fumiko) and Stephen Fujii, several nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her parents Jack and Asako Fujii, brother, Alan and sister, Nancy Hodnefield.
