George Asanobu Fukuhara
George Asanobu FukuharaGeorge Asanobu Fukuhara, 79, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2023. He was born on March 13, 1943 in Aiea, the tenth of ten children to Choko and Kame Fukuhara. George graduated from Radford High School, attended San Jose State University and served in the US Army and Army National Guard. He was a partner with Allied Builders System. He also had a career as a loan officer with IMCO Realty Services and later in the mortgage brokerage business as President of Home Financial Services, SVP Regional Sales Manager of Hawaii Wholesale Mortgage with Bank of America, and retired as Regional Manager with Plaza Home Mortgage.

George was an honorable, kind, and generous friend, and a loving and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed golfing with friends, traveling with family (Japan, US and Canada) and trips to Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lei (Heirakuji); daughter Lisa (Mark) Nakagawa and grandchildren Reyn and Alyssa; and 4-legged mutt Hoku. He is also survived by sister, Betty (Richard) Ishii; sister-in-law Lynn Heirakuji; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Richard (Jesse) Oshiro, Choei (Sally) Fukuhara, Robert (Jenny) Fukuhara, Ronald (Iris) Fukuhara, Francis (Kinuku) Fukuhara, Arthur (Sallie) Fukuhara, Charles (Rosy) Fukuhara, and Frederick Fukuhara.

A private service with military honors was held on March 20, 2023 at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
