MYRON SHIGEMI SHIMAMOTO
81, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of the Big Island of Hawaii, passed away on January 24, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada at Valley Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Patricia Shimamoto of Las Vegas Nevada, sons, Michael (Michele) Shimamoto of Puulani Ranch in Puuanahulu, Richard Mello of Kaneohe, Spencer (Denise) Mello of Albuquerque New Mexico, daughter Elizabeth Shimamoto of Kealakekua, 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Brother, Robert (Dorothy) Shimamoto of Hilo, sister Sandra (Joseph) Ooka of Naalehu. Half sister Lori Shimamoto Black of Honolulu, step-brothers Melvin Sakaba of Honolulu, Patrick Sakaba of Texas. He is predeceased by his parents Richard Harumi Shimamoto and Rose Adolpho Morris and his hanai parents Gilbert D. and Hilda Kawelo Silva and hanai brothers Gilbert D. Jr., Vernon and Glen Silva. Myron was a graduate of Kamehameha Schools Kapalama campus class of 1959, he was also a member in good standing of 60 years with local 675 plumbers union where he retired at age 50. He soon worked for Hawaiian Airlines, then went onto work for the DOT airports division in Kona and the Waimea, Kohala airport before retiring and moving to Las Vegas.
