Amy Yasuko Kawamura
81, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on November 30, 2022 with her family by her side. At 25 years old Yasuko Wada came to Honolulu from Tokyo, Japan and met Wayne Kawamura. They had 2 daughters, Lorelei and Lena. Amy was a hair stylist for 20 years at Regina's Beauty Salon in Kaimuki and later worked in sales at Royal Steak and Seafood Restaurants in Waikiki. In her retirement, she enjoyed taking cruises with friends and traveling throughout the US mainland and various countries including Europe, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan and many more! Amy was very active in retirement and she enjoyed swimming and working out at the gym with her friends. She especially loved all her grandchildren and enjoyed babysitting and traveling with them. Her "ikigai" or purpose in life was to take care of her family and she did this exceptionally well! She instilled values such as kansha/gratitude and omoiyari/ thoughtfulness in her children and lived her life this way. Thank you Mom for the endless sacrifices you made for our family and for raising us with love and kindness. We love you and will continue to miss you everyday.
Survived by daughters Lorelei (Kendrick) Nishiguchi, Lena (Makoto) Noguchi, grandchildren Jacey, Mia and Mason Nishiguchi, Rainn Noguchi, sisters Osumi Kamio, Otayo Mizutani, brothers Toru and Takayuki Wada and many nieces and nephews.
