Bill was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and served 21 years in the Air Force. He retired in 1980, and then began a second career with Merrill Lynch. He was active with New Hope where he enjoyed singing in the choir, serving as a greeter, and oversaw the "Experiencing God" ministry.
Bill is survived by his wife, Mary of 62 years, son Steven Erler, daughters, Suzanne (Daron) Wicker, Beth (Les) Araki, and 7 grandchildren.
A private service was held at Punchbowl on Thursday, February 2, 2023. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Kalihi Union Church, at 10:00 am with lunch to follow. Please RSVP to betharaki@cs.com. The family requests no flowers or leis.
