Robin Mui Kwai Yee
Robin Mui Kwai Yee Robin Mui Kwai Yee, 54, passed away on February 5, 2023, after a more than three year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Honolulu and attended Saint Patrick School and Sacred Hearts Academy. She graduated from Chaminade University with a degree in Criminology and Kapi'olani Community College with a degree in Paralegal Studies.
She took her talents, engaging smile, and personality to management positions at Banana Republic and Coach. With her paralegal degree, she worked for three law firms, and later became a trust management assistant at Bank of Hawai'i and then First Hawaiian Bank. She then took the challenge to set up, develop, and organize the customer service call center for Premier Restoration Hawai'i.
She loved travel and adventure, participating in the Special Olympics "Over the Top" charity event, rappelling down from the top of the Hyatt Regency hotel, and traveling to various places across the U.S., Japan, Korea, and Europe.
Robin was a passionate taiko drum player and loved to practice and perform with her taiko group, Somei Taiko, traveling to Italy where the group held multiple performances.
She is survived by husband Dean K. Higuchi; parents Raymond J.W. and Olivia; brother Raymond (Sharon); sisters Raynell (Ronald Willis) and Roxanne (Sky) Kiyabu. She was predeceased by brother Randall.
A service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Saint Patrick Church, 1124 7th Avenue in Kaimuki. Family Visitation: 9:30 a.m.; Public Visitation: 10:30 a.m.; Service: 11:15 a.m.
In lieu of flowers or monetary gifts, her family asks that donations in Robin's honor be made to The Queen's Hospital Cancer Center or the Hawaiian Humane Society.
