100, of Aiea, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023. Born on June 4, 1922 in Waipahu to Katsuichi and Usa Shinsato and was the 4th of 7 children.He is predeceased by wife Yoshiko and daughter Eunice Nose and is survived by children Melvin Shinsato (Jae Sook), Karen Tamayoshi (Glenn, deceased), Andrea Oshiro (Wayne) and Edwin Nose (son-in-law), 10 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren.
He was a proprietor of a fish stall, liquor store and grocery store and retired from the Hawai'i State Department of Education at age 69.
Okinawan music was his passion and he was the headmaster of Shinsato Shosei Kai where he taught the playing of the sanshin for over 50 years.
Private services held. The family request no koden (monetary gift).
