James A. Shepherd, Jr. passed away on April 23, 2023 at the age of 76. He is survived by wife Catherine Shepherd, daughter Dr. Janice Shepherd, and sister Kay Fleming.James was born in Brownfield, Texas on May 7, 1946, to Sarah and James Shepherd. He retired as the head librarian at Fort Shafter.
After retiring, he and wife Cathy traveled around the world. Jim had a positive attitude and a very funny sense of humor. He was a supportive brother, friend, husband, and dad. He was an active member of Olivet Baptist Church where he served as an usher and was also a chaplain for the American Legion. Private Services.
