Abel Fernandez, Jr.
Abel Fernandez, Jr. Born October 22, 1934, in Township Ewa, Plantation Housing Hawaii, he was the son of Abel Fernandez, Sr. and Dorothy DePonte. Abel was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War and was awarded the Korean War Medal, U.N. Nations Medal, and the National Defense Medal, with full military honors.
Abel loved to get involved in many hands-on projects with family and friends. His hobbies included shore/reef fishing, the Motor Cycle Club (Sons of Hawaii), bowling leagues (Chucks Steakhouse), and the CB Radio Club.
He was preceded in death by his sons: Thaddeus Pomai Fernandez and Clendes Lailai Fernandez, and his daughter, Charmaine Fernandez.
Abel is survived by his wife, Ronalaine Fernandez; sons: Abel Fernandez III (Kimberly), Patrick Fernandez (Diane), James Fernandez (Evelyn), and Stephen Kalani Fernandez (Jade); daughters: Ramona Fernandez (Russell); Stephanie Fernandez (Toni) and Leialoha Fernandez; brother, Reginald Fernandez; sister, Betty Jane Page. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Abel's funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m.,
Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Hawaiian Memorial Park,
45-425 Kamehameha Hwy., Kaneohe. Burial to follow.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him,
and his memory will live on through his family and friends.
