FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

SHARON JEAN SCHAMBER
SHARON JEAN SCHAMBER Sharon Jean Oswald Schamber died April 22, 2023, shortly after turning 89. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean T. Schamber, and her parents Arnold and Jeanne Oswald.
Born on April 1, 1934, in New Ulm, Minnesota, Sharon lived a life full of adventure, service, and connection. After earning a nursing degree in 1957 from the University of Minnesota where she met her husband, Col. Dean T. Schamber, USA Ret, the Schambers embarked on a military journey that took them to Hawaii, Kentucky, San Francisco, Georgia, Texas, Washington DC, Panama, and ultimately back to her beloved Kailua, Hawaii, where they lived for 50 years. Sharon found her passion in real estate, making lasting friendships and connections throughout her career. She was a past president of the Honolulu Chapter of Certified Residential Specialists, an active member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, and an ardent supporter of P.E.O. International and the Hawaii Dog Foundation. Sharon's love for people and travel led her to visit all fifty states and over fifty countries.
Sharon is survived by her children: James Schamber of Volcano, Hawaii, Stephanie Hika and LeeAnn Stephan of Kailua, Hawaii, John Schamber and Wayne Yoshigai of Honolulu, Hawaii; her hanai son Brian Wood of Dalkey, Ireland; her sister Betsy Bradford of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and her sister and brother-in-law Christine and Randy Rahn of Edmonds, Washington; Aunt Margaret Oswald, New Ulm, Minnesota; seven granddaughters and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Honolulu on July 15, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.; Interment to follow at the
National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to:
P.E.O. International, or the Hawaii Dog Foundation.

Sharon's impact on the world will not be forgotten.
