Daisy Fujita Matsushita, 90, of Hilo, HI, died at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. She was born in Hilo, HI and was a retired data processor with the Hawaii Tribune Herald and a secretary with the Hawaii Island United Way. She was also a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and the Buddhist Women's Association. Friends may call at the Dodo Mortuary chapel on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, where a Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM. The family requests casual attire and that flowers be omitted. She is survived by her: Sons, James T. (Glynda) Matsushita of Hilo, HI, Leslie S. Matsushita of Honolulu, HI and Layne M. (Shari Masuda) Matsushita of Hilo, HI; Sister-in-law, Kikue Fujita of Honolulu, Oahu, HI; Brother-in-law, Terry Shima of Washington, D.C.; numerous nieces and nephews.
