GEORGE KANAKALEILEHUA PULAWA
It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the passing of George Kanakaleilehua Pulawa on December 19, 2017 at Queen's Medical Center, at the young age of 60. He was born in Honolulu and was raised by his grandmother, Hazel Catherine Houghtailing Stone. Growing up he was an alter boy at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Pearl City and had his own newspaper route, both of which made him a more independant and disciplined person. George was a hard worker no matter what the job was, from construction work to detailing vehicles to yard work. He also worked at XTreme Parasail as a tour driver for over fifteen years, working with people from all walks of life. He did it all. Making popsicles at his sister's factory made his day! He was a big 49er's Fan and loved playing chess. He had a big heart and was a loving, kind and caring individual. He was very loved and will be missed terribly. He is survived by his wife Florine M. Pulawa, sons; George Jr., Benjamin, Keli`i, and Keoki; step-daughter Chanel Carvalho; brothers; Benjamin M. Pulawa III and Virgil Hackney Jr.; sisters; Frances Ann K. Pulawa Stone-Cabael, Donna Rae K. Pulawa and Barbara Ann Prim; 12 grandchildren. Services for George will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018. Visitation: 10:00 a.m.; Services: 11:00 a.m. at Borthwick Mortuary, Maunakea Chapel, Honolulu. Burial: 2:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery. Aloha Attire.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
