DR. FRANCIS LIU
DR. FRANCIS LIU It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Francis Liu announces his passing on Saturday January 6, 2018 at the age of 66. Francis will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years Debbie, his daughter Colleen (Kevin), and his son Peter (Tammy). He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Kaitlyn and Darick, his brother Jim (Linda), as well as his extended family and dear friends. Francis prioritized education and the pursuit of work that emphasized humanism and compassion. After graduating from 'Iolani School, he attended Stanford University before pursuing training in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the University of California San Diego and the University of Utah. Francis deeply enjoyed caring for others and spent the majority of his career at Kaiser Permanente Hawai'i as an Infectious Diseases specialist. He also dedicated time to teaching at the University of Hawai'i Medical School, volunteering at a free clinic at the Salvation Army, and serving as a board member for Easter Seals Hawai'i. Most importantly, he was a loving husband to Debbie, and a wonderful father for his 2 children Colleen and Peter, a role that he considered most important throughout his life. A celebration of life in honor of Francis will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 starting with visitation at 2:00 PM at St. Alban's Chapel on the campus of 'Iolani School, 563 Kamoku Street Honolulu, HI. Services will be immediately followed by a reception and dinner in the adjacent Student Center on 'Iolani's campus. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make donations to Easter Seals Hawai'i, 'Iolani School, the Hawai'i Salvation Army, Makiki Community Library, or the Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
