FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Michiro Endow
Of Haleiwa passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2017 at the age of 90. He was born on March 14, 1927 in Sacramento, California to Jensuke and Chiyo Endow. At the age of 5, his family moved to Haleiwa. He graduated from Waialua High School in 1945 then served in the Army in the European Tour. After his service he used the GI Bill to enroll at the University of Hawaii and graduated in 1953. Michiro owned the Haleiwa Poi Factory and Endow's Service Station. As busy as he was with 2 businesses he was also involved in many organizations as well al the children's schools. And in 1961 he was named one of the 10 top business men of the year by the Jaycees. Michiro was very independent and self-motivated and in 1975 he ordered a car in Europe, flew his wife and another couple to Germany where he picked it up and spent a month driving to 12 other countries, arranging accommodations along the way. After retiring he and Chieko traveled extensively, but his favorite destination was Vegas where he eventually made it into the "Golden Arm Club" at the California Hotel. He is survived by his wife Chieko, sons Alton (Pamela), Harvey, daughters Ruth (Oren) Sonoda and Christine (Stephen) Yoshida, 4 grand- children, 4 great grand children, brothers George and Raymond and sisters Norma Shiraki and Nancy Ishihara. Private services held, no monetary gifts.
