Jane Kimie Taira Chang
Jane Kimie Taira Chang, 99, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2017. She was born in Honolulu on May 10, 1918. She worked for the Federal Government for 35 years as a Civil Service Statistical Assistant in the Comptroller Office. After retirement, she kept busy by volunteering or being involved with Streams of Life Church, NARFE Chapter 1450, Richard Street YWCA, Ginowan Shijin Kai, Lanakila Senior Center, and Lanakila Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Chang; parents, Kame and Kamato Taira; and sisters, Hatsuye Toyama and Catherine Asato. She is survived by daughter, Roberta "Robbie" Umeno; son-in-law, Morris Y. Umeno; granddaughter, Tylar A. Umeno; siblings, Albert Taira and Edna Oshiro; nephews and nieces. Visitation from 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 10 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Services will be held at 4:00 pm. Aloha attire. Arrangements Provided By: Hosoi Garden Mortuary
