69, of Keauhou, Kona, Hawaii, died December 20, 2017, at The UC Health Medical Center of the Rockies, Loveland, Colorado. Born in Hilo, Hawaii, he graduated from The Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu, Hawaii, (IMUA Class of 1966), and the University of Hawaii. He attended various Photography classes and workshops in California. He was a US Navy Veteran. He retired from the Hawaii Police Department as a Captain. He worked at The Fairmont Orchid Resort, Kohanaiki Resort, Hilton Waikoloa Village, SIS Corporation, The Hawaii Tribune-Herald as a Photographer, and Standard Oil Corporation. Cremation was done by Marks Funeral and Cremation Service of Windsor, Colorado. Blessing of the ashes will be on Friday, March 2, 2018, at 12 p.m., at the St. Michael's Church in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Survived by spouse, Florence Hickcox, of Keauhou, Hawaii, son, Jonathan-Caleb (Kayla Evavold) Hickcox, of Windsor, Colorado, daughter, Brooke Hickcox, of Savannah, Georgia, and grand- sons, Nalu Timothy Hickcox and Nainoa Robert Hickcox, of Windsor, Colorado, and Beau Hickcox and Miss Grr Hickcox, both of Keauhou, Hawaii, brother, Thomas Sr. (Anna) Hickcox, of Keauhou, Hawaii, half-brother, Greg (Debbie) Hickcox, of Greensboro, North Carolina, brother-in-law, Fred Jr. (Susan) Orio, of St. Charles, Missouri, and sister-in-law, Maureen (Bill) O'Rear, of San Diego, California. Survived by Aunties- Lily Kong, of Keauhou, Hawaii, Louisa (Harry- predeceased) Haanio, Shirlen (Samuel Sr.-predeceased) Haanio, and Carol (Benjamin-predeceased) Crump-Haanio, of Statesville, North Carolina, and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Old Kona Airport State Recreation Center (Old "A" Pavilion). Luncheon and entertainment to follow.
