James “Cam” Campbell Shuford, III
James "Cam" Campbell Shuford, III, died March 3, 2018 of a heart attack biking with friends in Kailua, Hawaii. Born November 25, 1940 in Chicago, IL to James C. Shuford, Jr. and Frances (Weir), Cam is survived by his wife, Rita; daughter, Susan Taylor of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; two grandchildren, a great- grandchild, and brothers John, of Raleigh, NC, and Bob, of Evanston, IL. He was predeceased by his parents and dear sister, Ellen Roberts. Cam was active throughout his life, training for triathlons and, when his knees gave out, fell in love with long-distance biking. Cam arrived at his 50th college reunion on his bike, having travelled 400 miles from Chicago, weary and triumphant. Since moving to Kailua in 1995, Cam worked as a youth guidance counselor in various Kailua schools most recently at Hakipu'u Charter School.
