Allan Ichiro Morimoto
Allan Ichiro Morimoto, affectionately known as "Mori" or "Ichi" to family and friends, passed away early the morning of February 24, 2018 while working hard to recover from a variety of medical challenges Allan was born on the island of Kauai to parents Yoshio and Misayo Morimoto on May 28, 1938. He graduated from Kauai High School in 1956. After four years of service in the United States Air Force, he returned to Honolulu and attended the New York Technical Institute. He spent his career as a Quality Assurance specialist at the Pearl Harbor Shipyard retiring in 1993. Allan continued to be active in his retirement. He enjoyed traveling to the US Mainland and Japan, was an avid UH football fan, bowled in the Kyo Yu Kai league, and was a computer enthusiast. He is survived by wife, Jean, daughter, Stacey (Dan) Kashima, and granddaughters, Kayla, Ashlyn, and Hailey; brother, Roy. Pre-deceased sister, Doris McKaig. Services will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Mililani Mortuary, Makai Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. with services to follow. Casual attire. No flowers.
