Frances Maude Koo
89, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2018 at Legacy House of Centennial Hills in Las Vegas, Nevada. Frances was born on July 9, 1928 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Julie and Ernest Dias. She worked as a Purchasing Agent at Pearl Harbor Naval Supply Center, where she later retired. Frances was married to James Koo (1920-2006) and had one daughter, Pua. After retirement, Frances and James spent most of their time playing golf and spending time with family. Frances loved playing card games of any kind and was a real competitive spirit. She especially enjoyed playing "King's Corner" with her friends from Pacifica Senior Living San Martin where she resided until January 2018. She also enjoyed various outings she took all over Las Vegas, especially the ones to the casinos! More often than not, Frances could be found with knitting needles in hand; knitting and crocheting leis and scarves was a cherished hobby of hers. If you ever received a lei or scarf from Frances, you could be sure that she appreciated you greatly! Frances is survived by her sister, Juliet K. Branigan; daughter, Pua Dorothy (Wilbur); grandchildren: Dean Dorothy (Michele), Carine Flippin (Clay), and Derek Dorothy (Jessica); and five great grandchildren: Paige, Matthew, Tyler, Roman, and Gabriella. The family also sends a special thanks to Nathan Adelson Hospice and all her caregivers who supported her during her illness. Services will be held for Frances on O'ahu; the date has not been determined. We will miss you! A hui hou (until we meet again)!
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
