Paul R. Weissich, Sr. beloved father, grandfather, colleague and friend passed away on January 24th, 2018, in California at the age of 92. Director of the Honolulu Botanical Gardens for 32 years, he was also an accomplished author, best known for his book, Na Lei Makamae, and recipient of numerous awards and commendations, including being honored by Honpa Hongwanji Mission as a Living Treasure in 2010. Paul was predeceased by wife Patricia L. Weissich, and is survived by sons Paul Jr and wife, Trina; Fredric and wife, Leigh; Bruce and wife, Cheryl; hanai sons Richard Ochner and wife, Nobuko; James "Timi" Judd; 13 grandchildren and 22 great- grandchildren. Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 5th, 10:30 am at St Clement's Episcopal Church. Donation to Friends of Honolulu Botanical Gardens are suggested in lieu of flowers.
