Jane Teruyo Oki
Jane Teruyo Oki passed away at Kuakini Medical Center on September 7, 2018, at the age of 96. She was the second oldest of four children of Seiyo and Ima Kubokawa of Honolulu. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1939 and became a registered nurse after graduating from the Queen's Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. She received her Master of Public Health from the University of Hawaii in 1969. She spent almost her entire career working for the State of Hawaii Department of Health as a public health nurse and retired in 1980. She and her late husband, Albert Yutaka Oki, were lifelong, devoted members of St. Mary's Episcopal Church. She is survived by daughter, Althea O. Hoogs; son, John S. Oki; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations suggested to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Hawaii Opera Theatre or the American Diabetes Association. Visitation: 9:00 a.m.; Services: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Honolulu.
