He is survived by his wife, Elaine; daughter, Geraldine Y. (Nelson) Awaya; son, Richard F. (Star Quon); brothers, Jack and Roy (Chizuko); sister, Betty (Howard) Hayashi; grandchildren, Kevin Awaya, Darin Awaya, Jonathan Awaya, Jessica Nakamura and Lauren Nakamura; and by eleven great-grandchildren.
