JENNIE HUNG WAN (LEE) CHOW
JENNIE HUNG WAN (LEE) CHOW 93, born Honolulu January 25,1926, died Tacoma, WA., March 29, 2019. Second of ten children born to Lee Len and Bertha (Chock) Lee. Attended Sacred Hearts Academy and UH Manoa, majoring in music. Jennie met her husband of 63 years, "Archie" Chow at a Chinese Catholic Club picnic. They married 9/1/1951, moved to Kailua, and raised four children. Jennie taught first grade at Hickam, Maunawili, and Mokapu Elementary schools. She also gave piano lessons. A devoted parishioner, Jennie played piano and organ for the St. Anthony's Church choir in Kailua for 56 years. Jennie had many friends and loved to entertain. With Archie, she hosted countless parties where she played the piano while everyone sang along. She is survived by son, Leslie (Peggy Moore) Chow, Mariposa, CA.; daughters, "Didi" (Jack) Durkin, Fircrest, WA., and Jennifer Chow, San Rafael, CA.; brothers Larry and Calvin, sisters Hung Yung, Thelma, and Betty; grandchildren: John (Trang), Colleen (Mike Peterson), Megan, Kevin and Daniel Durkin, Ian and Caitlin Chow-Ise; great-grandchildren: Jack, Noah, and Owen Durkin, and Malia and Michael Peterson III. She was predeceased by her son, Leland Chow and husband Archie. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated on Saturday, June 22, 2019 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, 148 Makawao St., Kailua.
