85, of Honolulu, passed away on May 24, 2019. Born in Lahaina, Maui, he retired from the University of Hawaii at Manoa as Dean for the College of Education. He is survived by his wife, Ellen (Kano) Araki; sons, Wade (Kristie) and Blake (Valerie) Araki; grand- children, Nicole (Casen), Jared, Logan, HeatherLin, and Kurt (Misato); four great-grandchildren, and brother, Mitchell (Claire) Araki.
