GERALDINE ALULI
Passed away in her Kailua home on June 6, 2019, just shy of her 94th birthday. Daughter of Ruth Bertelmann Rose and beloved wife of the late Kep Aluli, she was the center of her family for the last 20 years. She is survived by her two daughters, Yuklin and Alai, three grandsons, Kimo (Monica) and Kui (Chasity) McConnell and Keanu Kuna (Ana), seven great- grandchildren and her sister Cecile Wilmington. She was mother and Tutu to her descendants and mo'opuna, Aunty Gerry to her many nieces and nephews. Raised on the slopes of Leahi, Gerry graduated from St. Andrew's Priory and attended the University of Hawaii and University of Colorado during World War II. She is famous for her mango pies which she baked during the summer months for her offspring, cousins and friends. Ua ola loko i ke aloha. Gerry always had a kind word for others. Sweet natured, our Tutu loved and comforted us all. We will miss her and remember her. There will be mo'olelo shared, mele and pule, at Diamond Head Chapel 535 18th Ave, on July 27 at 10 am, with aha aina make to follow on the lanai. Friends and family are invited to remember and bid aloha to Gerry. Donations to St. Francis Hospice or Hui Hanai in lieu of flowers are welcome.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
