Dr. Rhoda A. Feinberg
a notable psychologist, passed away at the age of 80 on September 11, 2019 in Anchorage, Alaska, during her last of many adventurous travels. Born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, she was a teacher and guidance counselor in the inner-city schools of New York City until moving to Honolulu in 1967. She had a rewarding and varied career as educator and psychologist spanning over fifty years. She was a therapist at the King Kalakaua Center for Humanistic Therapy and also worked with several organizations in Honolulu, including the Women's Prison, Oahu Community Correctional Center, Kalihi Y Outreach Program, the Association of Realtors, the Special Guardian Ad Litem program, and the "Laulima" peer counseling program of the Honolulu Police Department. Towards the end of her career, she was in private practice. A "truth-teller" and sage, she is also known for her sharp wit and zest for life. Rhoda seized every opportunity to gather loved ones together to celebrate special occasions and the accomplishments of others. She is survived by two nephews, and many loving friends. Her death is an incalculable loss for the many people who were graced by her attentiveness and wisdom. A private service will be held summer 2020.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
