84, peacefully passed at Pali Momi Medical Center on November 24, 2019. Graduate of St. Louis High School and the University of Hawaii. Worked at Akinaka & Associates as a civil engineer. Became the Head Minister of the Tenrikyo Kalihi Church in 1970. He is survived by spouse, Jean; sons, Dean (Teri), Derrick (Sheri); grandchildren, Race, Kaitlyn, Addison; brothers Dr. George Yama (Clarissa), Roy Yama (Sally); nieces and nephews and their families. Preceded in death by parents Manabu and Kazue Yama; sister, Evelyn Kimura (Dr. Charles).
