Albert Morris Souza
Albert Morris Souza, 96, of Aiea, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, February 15, 2020. Born on December 29, 1923, in Waiakea, Hawaii, he was the youngest son of the late Frank de Souza and Roseline Morris de Souza. The family moved to Oahu when he was seven years old but he remained a country boy at heart. Albert graduated from Saint Louis High School in 1943. He then attended evening classes to became a technical engineer. Albert retired from the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard after 37 years in the Production and Planning Department. He was a veteran who was honorably discharged from the Navy, Army and Air Force. Al was a devout Catholic and a member of the Holy Name Society, an avid fisherman, a loyal Notre Dame and Rainbows football fan, a constant reader of western and naval sagas, a union activist and community association president. A capable handyman who generously helped many family and friends with their construction projects. He loved to travel, especially to Oregon, for salmon fishing with a short stop in Las Vagas for a little gambling. His extraordinary self sacrifices, encouragement, love and prayerfulness have left this world a better place. He will be mourned by all of us who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Laura Marie Souza; three children: Dennis (Carol) Souza, Francine (Robert) Frost, Roselinda (Jac) Holzman; five grandchildren: Jessica (Noel) Goodpaster, Ryan (Vera) Frost, Emily (Daniel) Mooney, Aldon (Alyssa) Frost, Daniel (Dani) Souza and five great-grandchildren; Jackson, Jameson, Addison Goodpaster, Jade and Iver Frost. Private Service and Burial.
Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
