Having come from a large, loving family, and celebrating the blessing of four children, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, Ellie's love of family was profound. She embraced Walter's family as well, who claimed Ellie as their prized and treasured bonus! (Walter predeceased Ellie in 1999.)
Over the years, ever enthusiastic/energetic Ellie thrived on playing a good game of golf (hole in one!), enjoying "never enough" card games, going dancing, and reading, especially biographies. Flowers were her steady source of delight, as were the trees of Hawaii.
She was a member of the Oahu Country Club and the Outrigger Canoe Club.
The family wants to thank the loyalty of everyone around her, who each added to the pleasure of her everyday.
Always elegant and "with it" in style, manner and sharp thinking, she graced the lives of the many who will miss the fun and substance of her youthful, buoyant presence. Ellie's love of life, resiliency, intellectual curiosity and unwavering positive attitude will forever be inspirational.
"Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation." Rumi
