Joseph Battista, M.D. Age 92, of Haleiwa, Oahu, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. A native of Djakovo, Yugoslavia, "Dr. B" (as he was known to the North Shore community), came to Hawaii after studying medicine at the University of Munich, Germany. He was the Medical Director of the Waialua Plantation Hospital for 8 years, then opened his private practice in 1977, where he continued to serve the families of the North Shore and Central Oahu for almost 30 years. He is survived by his wife Julie Ann; his children: Joseph Stephen Battista, Jacqueline (Travis) De Lima, James Julio Battista; nieces Jana Holden, Sanja Brewer, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Services will be held privately by the family.
