He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Vera; sons Lonnie Vertido, Shane Reams, and Gary Jr. and Thadd “Maka†Kawelo; daughters Kimberly, Katherine “Loke†and Jordan “Makamaeâ€; brothers Roy, Rodney, Richard and Glance; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
