FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Richard “Dick” Womelsdorf, Sr.
Richard "Dick" Womelsdorf Sr passed away peacefully on May 12, 2021 at the age of 86 in Mililani, Hawaii. He battled various illnesses in recent years but always kept a smile on his face and remained strong until the end.

Dick was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1936 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force. After his service, he started his own business as an electrical contractor, successfully running it and being active in various local small business associations until 1985 when he and his wife June moved to Kailua, Hawaii. Although semi-retired, he again started an electrical contracting business and operated it until he fully retired in the early 2000s. On both the mainland and in Hawaii, he was an avid boater with active memberships in United States Power Squadrons. He and his wife were fixtures in their Kailua community, regularly hosting 4th of July celebrations, Halloween parties, and Christmas celebrations and making many friends.

Dick is preceded in death by his wife June and step-son Jim and is survived by his children Rich Jr, Toni, Rob, and Greg from a previous marriage, his step-daughters Carol and Jo Ann, and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was reunited with June and they were interred at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe on 1 July.
