FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

MARION BUSH HAINES
MARION BUSH HAINES Island girl, "Butch" to many of her friends, passed away on June 16, 2011 at her home in Laguna Beach. She was born in Honolulu on December 15, 1924 to LeRoy Cagwin Bush and Octavia Ruth Johnson Bush. She met her husband Dr. Charles Leroy Haines, Jr., at Stanford and settled in Altadena, California. Pre-deceased by her husband and her sister, Jane Miller, Marion is survived by four children: Tay Haines, Salt Lake City, Tex Haines and Jo Johnson, Laguna Beach, and Peter Haines, Honolulu. Six grandchildren include: Matisse Milovich, Fletcher and Quinn Johnson, Carly Haines, and Taylor and Mayson Haines. Later Marion (and Roy) lived within blocks of the Huntington where Marion's soul was nourished as a "super docent" for the library, gallery and gardens for over 25 years. She cheered the Dodgers, was an enthusiastic cook, and a low-handicap golfer. Marion was committed to her family, friends, and to her passions, managing to make an art of all her loves-shining brightest in entertaining-mode, with great food and a good story. Her big smile and aloha spirit carried through to the end. A memorial service in honor of Marion will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 4 pm at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 428 Park Avenue, Laguna Beach, California. . . . valet parking and good kau kau to follow. Everyone who knew Marion is welcome to join in saying aloha. RSVPs to the family appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Outdoor Circle (since 1912 the leading organization for protecting the beauty of Hawaii), 1314 South King St., Suite 306, Honolulu, HI 96814.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
