FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

CHEW HOY LEE
On Oct. 2, 2020, Chew Hoy Lee, 87 (March 26, 1933) return to loving embrace of his parents Moon Sun and Lum She Lee, sisters Dai and Sally, brothers Samuel and Tsing Hoy. He is a proud graduate of Saint Louis School Class of 1951 and UH Manoa. He travelled to Boise, ID joining the construction giant, Morrison-Knudsen. He broke racial barriers as being one of the first Asian Engineer/Surveyor for the company. This led him to working on some of the largest and ground breaking dam, roads and infrastructure projects throughout the world. From the deserts of Iran/Iraq, to the jungles of South America and Vietnam.

He returned back to Hawaii and started his next career with Amfac eventually rising up to VP of Land Development. He is a former Member of the Commission on Transportation and other construction organizations.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Suzanne, sons Ross and Marvin (wife Ashley, Granddaughter Lauren), sister-in-law Marilyn Lee and 17 nephews and nieces.

A celebration of life will be held at the Saint Louis Alumni Club House on March 26 at 10:30 AM-1:30PM, with a luncheon to follow. There will be a private burial at a later date.
