Theodore E. “Ted” Garduque
THEODORE E. "TED" GARDUQUE, F.A.I.A., 71, passed away on February 2, 2022. Born in Honolulu on January 1, 1951, he was a proud graduate of University High School, Laboratory Division, in 1968. He continued on with his education, attaining a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon in 1973; Master of Architecture from Cornell University in 1975. He founded his own firm, Garduque Architects, in 1987. In 2000, he was elevated into the College of Fellows of the AIA, earning the distinction of F.A.I.A., one of his proudest moments. Ted had many passions in his life besides architecture, including his family, photography, sketching, skeet shooting, riding his Harley, cheering on the Oregon Ducks; collecting pocket watches, knives and fountain pens. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cynthia (Cyndy) Garduque; his mother Mabel Amor Garduque of Honolulu; mother-in-law Dorene Baldridge of Ohio; brother Gabriel, III (Lyann) of Honolulu; brother Stanton "Jim" of Honolulu; sister Dirain "DeeDee" Lewis (Geoff) of Illinois; sister Gisele "Gigi" (Sam) Ferreira of Kentucky; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Gabriel Garduque, Jr. and his brother, Marcos "Mackey" Garduque. Private services were held, followed with scattering of his ashes in Waikiki. Rest in peace, Ted.
