FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Margene Sjoblom Moore
MARGENE SJOBLOM MOORE 1943 ~ 2011 Margene Sjoblom Moore (Jeanie), our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend of thousands throughout the world passed away peacefully on July 7, 2011 at her home in Draper, Utah surrounded by her loved ones after a lengthy battle with a chronic illness and a short duration with cancer. Her passing brought forth an abundance of expressions of love and respect from family and friends. The expression from almost everyone was, "We cannot visualize the world without Jeanie." She was constantly reaching out to those in need and for years volunteered at hospitals and made sure the homeless received meals and gifts during the holidays. Jeanie was born on November 20, 1943 to Boyd Robert and Majorie Newbold Sjoblom. She was the second child of this good family consisting of Becky Ann Smith, Judy Gay Bowthorpe, Boyd E. Sjoblom and Paula S. Bowthorpe. Ever since she was a child, Jeanie has been the "life of the party." She loved life and found creative ways to express it. She was raised in Draper, Utah and graduated from Jordan High School. She was very popular and formulated genuine friendships that continued throughout her life. She was a ZCMI Young Timer and was crowned Miss Draper. She continued her education graduating from LDS Business School. She married her high school sweetheart, Lester W.B. Moore (Les). Their eternal marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. This year they are celebrating 48 years of marriage. Jeanie's first priority was to her family and her desire to bring children into this world. She and Les were blessed with six sons and one daughter. The first came on their first year anniversary and six more about every twenty-two months thereafter. The family has lived in five states: Utah, Illinois, California, Minnesota and Hawaii. Wherever they lived, Jeanie was a loyal friend to many people of different races, cultures and religious denominations. She was loved and respected by everyone who knew her because of her openness and genuine love for all. The family always immersed themselves in their new surroundings. Jeanie would load the children into the van and go exploring. Her home was a place where the children's friends and their families were always welcomed. There were always extra beds and extra plates at the dinner table where a delicious meal was served. During the early years of marriage, Jeanie loved to sew the children's clothes and made beautiful flower and wicker arrangements. She never lost her enthusiasm and vitality, which were manifest in simple ways whether engaging in animated conversation in a grocery store, restaurant, at school or on the street. She always enjoyed being the most lively and supportive parent at the events her children participated in. Jeanie was very active in all of her children's schooling and strongly encouraged continual education. All of her children and their spouses have graduated from a university or will in the near future. For nine years (1991-2000) she loved living in Hawaii and being a very important part of the Polynesian Cultural Center. Along with her husband, she entertained countless dignitaries from all over the world. She endeared herself to the thousands of employees, and especially to the students as a role model and friend to everyone. Her home (the president's home) was always open to everyone and was a place enjoyed by all who entered in. She especially enjoyed the holidays and distributed gifts to one and all. Throughout her life she loved the Savior and was a very active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her unassuming service and effective way was manifested as a teacher, Primary president, Relief Society president, Young Women's presidency and temple worker. She loved representing the Church and her home was especially open to the members of other faiths. All of her children served missions for the Church throughout the world. She made many friends and was admired for her openness, honesty, nurturing manner and her strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She is survived by her devoted husband Lester W.B. Moore; her six children, Corey L. (Laura Fieldstein), Christopher J. (Heather Brown), Jason B. (Amy Hanson), Jeffrey R. (Hailee Rush), Melissa Ann, and Derris T. (Suzanne Probst); by her sisters and brother previously mentioned. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren. She was a fabulous grandmother and especially enjoyed the new babies. Her favorite expression was, "Let me hold them, kiss them, nibble on their little cheeks and shower them with love!" All of the grandchildren have continually felt her love and support. Every grandchild was remembered on their birthday, holidays and special events. She was admired, respected and loved by all of her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Damon R. Moore, her parents and three grandchildren, Noah, Maya and Jonah. The family would like to thank the loving doctors, nurses and staff who cared for and attended to her needs and to the family's needs.
