FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

RETA R. MAAG
RETA R. MAAG Reta Reed Maag passed away peacefully at home, October 6, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born in Watertown, New York in 1929. After getting her BS in Recreation from Penn State and working with the YWCA in Lima, OH and Miami FL, she made her way out to Kauai in 1955, where she worked with young people with the YWCA at Camp Sloggett.
Reta met her husband, Dr. Fritz Maag, on Kauai and married in Sackets Harbor, NY in 1959. After she received her Masters degree in Social Science at Boston University, she worked with the YWCA in Boston as the South Side Branch area director. When the Maags moved back to Molokai and then Oahu, she kept her lifelong passions for helping others, aviation, swimming, sailing, and everything that is Hawaii. She was an avid supporter of the Hawaiian Historical Society and the Swiss Club, and was proud of knitting many many baby hats for Kapiolani Medical Center and swimming with the Hawai'i Mermaids.

A service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local pet charity.

She is missed. Aloha, Reta.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
