FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

KAREN KIYOKO SATO
KAREN KIYOKO SATO(75) passed away peacefully at the hospital with her husband (Norman), and son (Jay), and daughter-in-law (Stacy), at her side on November 12, 2022.

Karen enjoyed her career as a schoolteacher, was an excellent mother who raised a son with character and compassion, and a supportive wife. She was married for 55 years to her husband, Norman, and blessed with a close family. Her life was a journey of learning, of interests, and growing with her family. She was extremely fortunate to have traveled to 65 countries in the world with her husband and enjoyed seeing different geographic features in foreign places, seeing animals unique to the area, learning about the diverse cultures and how they lived, and this lifestyle made her appreciate whatever life put before her. During her lengthy battle with cancer, as she sat at home reading or doing crafts to occupy her time, her eyes would light up when Norman would say "ok, time for a ride," several times a week, and she would enjoy the car ride no matter where it took her. Her usual comments were, "the ocean is so beautiful with different shades of blue and green," or "the beaches along this coast are so nice," or "the landscape is interesting." Her bucket was empty!

Karen has requested no funeral service, and no koden or flowers.

Her last wish was to be cremated and kept at home until her husband dies, then both will be inurned at their family Haka in Kona.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
