Originally from Japan, she graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo as an English literature major. During college, she was a band leader of a Hawaiian music band, playing the electric guitar. After graduating college, she met George Jinbo in Tokyo, got married and in 1963, moved to Hawaii. While in Hawaii, she built her career as a commercial artist, creating fashion illustrations for local department stores that were featured in the newspaper. In her later years, she focused on watercolor and acrylic painting and her artwork was regularly featured in local art shows.
A longtime resident of Hawaii for 59 years, she recently moved in February to Sunnyvale California. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, George, her daughter Paula, son-in-law Paul, and granddaughter, Natalie.
