Ronnie C. Menor
67, devoted husband, father and public servant passed away on January 16, 2022. Ron was born in Hilo, Hawaii on September 29, 1955 to the late Hawaii Supreme Court Justice Benjamin Menor and Lillian Menor. As a teenager, his family moved from Hilo to Central Oahu. After graduating from Iolani School, Ron earned BA from University of California at Los Angeles and JD from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington DC. Ron returned home to Central Oahu to raise a family and pursue a political career to make a positive difference in his community. Between 1982-2008, Ron served as a legislator in the State House of Representatives and Senate where he championed a myriad of issues affecting Central and Leeward Oahu. From 2012-2020, Ron served on the Honolulu City Council representing District 9 (Mililani, Waikele, Waipahu, Village Park, Royal Kunia and Ewa Beach communities). As a lawmaker, Ron passionately worked to drive positive change in the community to ensure a brighter future for all. His tireless efforts to improve public programs and services to communities, fight government corruption, and make Hawaii a more affordable place for everyday residents were much appreciated. Ron was directly involved with the Mililani Lions Club, YMCA, National Federation of Filipino American Associations, Mililani's Neighborhood Crime Watch Program, School Community Councils, and other organizations. Ron was a devoted follower of Christ at New Hope Central Oahu Church in Wahiawa, Hawaii. He served the Lord as group leader in Celebrate Recovery, Christ-centered recovery program for people struggling with issues controlling their lives. Ron is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons Andrew, Anthony, and Benji; and brother Rick. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and communities he served during his lifetime. Ron will be remembered for his strong faith, indomitable spirit, and commitment to enhancing lives of others. To honor Ron's memory, join us in a Celebration of Life: April 29, First Assembly of God, 3400 Moanalua Road, Honolulu, Hawaii; 10:30 am visitation; 11:30 am service.
